Spider Season Made Easy!27 August 2017
Moving into the month of September, wasps and hornets will remain at high levels for another month and September also is the beginning of spider season!
Have you seen an increase in spiders at your home?
Here is a tip, spiders don't like peppermint or vinegar. Just spray a mixture of peppermint oil and vinegar around your home, near windows and doors to deter them from coming inside. Mix up a solution of 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1 1/2 cups water, and 20 drops of peppermint essential oil.
Try to keep your home as clean and clutter-free as possible. A messy home is attractive to spiders and other pests. Keep on top of your hoovering as the spiders will be attracted to any crumbs. If you keep your outside lights off this will reduce the number of insects that the light attracts, meaning less food for the spiders. Remember that big sider in your bath! Just keep your plugs placed in your bath and sinks so they don’t crawl up.
If they do end up in your home, you can always just pick them up with a soft tissue and place them back outside or hoover them up (empty the hoover afterwards as they will crawl out).
Of course, you can always call us if you have a really bad infestation that you can’t get rid of yourself.
In addition to spiders, rats, mice and cockroaches all remain a real threat through September.
