Second Year of BS EN 16636 certification (CEPA Certified®)

27 January 2020

At Abate Pest Management we are now entering our second year of being BS EN 16636 certified (CEPA).

We have completed the annual return process checks on all the British Pest Control Association (The BPCA) core servicing membership criteria, specific qualifications, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), use of sub-contractors and holding the correct insurance etc. Following these checks the BPCA was very happy with the level of detail to continue as a CEPA certified, pest control company.

Jon Blake of Abate Pest Management said, “BS EN 16636 certification sets a clear and practical benchmark for the competences of a pest control operator and the basic processes required to ensure a quality service can be consistently delivered. It demonstrates the commitment to delivering a professional service. During the first year we can state that being CEPA certified has helped us gain new clients, especially those in the Food BRC audit chain. In addition, the certification has fitted extremely well into our organisation alongside our triple ISO, CHAS and Safecontractor.”

In March 2015, the European quality standard for pest management services was released. The standard, EN 16636, developed by The Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA) specifies the requirements for the provision of the effective and economical reduction of damage caused by pests with an aim to protect public health, property and the environment.
