Latest Pest Developments Supported by the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership26 November 2018
The New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership has recently supported some new growth initiatives for Norfolk based Abate Pest Management.
Heading into its 20 year of operations, Abate, based in Morley St Botolph near Wymondham recently reviewed operations and processes to support the business for its current and future growth.
One of the key areas of improvement identified was to eliminate as much paper and manual processes as possible from the business and move over to a fully integrated client operations software solution.
Following lots of research, Abate selected a proven solution within the Pest Control industry, ServiceTracker. The software solution manages field-based activity used by the technicians and surveyors, recording client visit schedules, risk assessments, treatment activity and surveys. This information is managed in the cloud, so clients can obtain real-time reports with key information that they require to satisfy their compliance and legislation. The software also reduces hours of manual handwriting and recording as it uses voice recognition.
Jill Blake Director of Abate said, “we have implemented phase one of the software solution. Our technicians are currently using the system on their smartphones running parallel with the hard copy paperwork. In January we will release phase two, including client reporting and integrated accounts. We will also see our quarterly returns to the Environmental Agency completed online, taking the information from each treatment visit into a report.” In addition to the new software Abate has upgraded computers in the office.
Operational improvements have also been made at the company’s head office. Three new storage containers have been purchased and transformed into bunded chemical storage facilities. Additional improvements have also been made to the existing ambient stores.
Jill continued, “It was great to receive the support from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership. The grant has helped us with the continued growth of the business without any delays.”
