Abate Pest Management Services awarded full membership of the BPCA17 March 2017
We are delighted to have been awarded full servicing membership of the BPCA (British Pest Control Association).
The BPCA is the UK’s leading trade association, representing organisations with a professional interest in the eradication and control of public health pests.
Companies joining the Association as a full member, have to prove their competence before membership is accepted and must meet strict criteria showing their professionalism and standards and are required to adhere to the Codes of Practice written by the BPCA.
Following an inspection of tour site, offices, stores and documentation; a random vehicle check and a random inspection of their work, they were awarded full BPCA membership. BPCA inspectors confirmed that the business was fully compliant with BPCA guidelines for the application, transportation and storage of pesticides as well as health and safety requirements under UK legislation.
Jon Blake, MD of Abate Pest Management Services explained “We’re delighted to have been awarded full servicing membership of the BPCA. We’ve been a gold accredited member of the NPTA (National Pest Technicians Association) for many years, so already had stringent procedures and processes in place, ensuring we stay up-to-date with the latest products, techniques and legislation. We also operate to BRC Global Standards, M&S Pest Prevention Code of Practice and Tesco Food Manufacturing Standard (TFMS) all of which require the highest levels of quality assurance, effectiveness and rigorous audit criteria.”
He went on to explain “BPCA membership is further demonstration of the professional service that we at Abate Pest Management Services have already been supplying our customers for many years. All our customers can be totally confident of receiving a consistent, professional pest control service from us.”
The criteria for full membership includes stringent qualifications for all staff involved in the eradication and control of pests and includes all staff taking part in a recognised programme of continuing professional development.
Jon added “We’ve always insisted on all our staff being trained with a professional qualification and this has formed a solid base on which we’ve built the business over the last 18 years. This membership recognises our efforts to provide pest prevention and control services to the highest professional standards.”
The company is also subject to regular audits and assessments to make sure they abide by procedures relating to waste disposal, record keeping, safety of vehicles and work practices.
